This blog will focus on news related to LSLF diets and products that are of benefit to people on such diets. I may also include new additions to the LSLF "Hall of Shame" where we commemorate commercial products that are especially irresponsible or are merchandised in a misleading way.
Let's start with 4 cream cheese-like products for breakfast:
The first 3 are nonfat or low fat farmer's cheeses:
• Fresh Made Non Fat Farmer Cheese
(0 g fat, 10 mg sodium/serving)
• Friendship No Salt Added Farmer Cheese
(2.5 g fat, 10 mg sodium/serving)
(1 g fat, 10 mg sodium/serving)
Next is Tofutti "Better than Cream Cheese" (5 g fat, 160 mg sodium/serving). Definitely has a more cream cheese-like texture, but at the price of higher fat and salt - but no cholesterol.
The last is Fage brand "ridiculously thick" Total 0% yoghurt which is basically strained yogurt but tastes similar to cream cheese with a strong dairy flavor.
(0 mg fat, 85 mg sodium/serving.
Unfortunately, only the Fage product is likely to be found at mainstream supermarkets.
These are the compromises in maintaining a LSLF diet!
